Mihaela Roxana Cimpan

Dr. Mihaela Roxana (Grama) Cimpan earned her PhD in Biomaterials in 2001 from the University of Bergen. She is an Associate Professor in Biomaterials at the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, University of Bergen, Norway and is a member of the SafeNano Norway organizing committee. She represents the Nanotoxicology pillar within the Nanotechnology platform at the University of Bergen (NanoUiB) (http://nano.uib.no).

The main activities are performed within the Biomaterial Research Cluster which constitutes an arena for various fields of research pertaining materials used in medicine and dentistry, encompassing the biological, physical, chemical, mechanical, and clinical performance of such materials (www.uib.no/rg/biomaterial/en). Since 2007 when the Nanotoxicology research area was established within the Cluster, the activities of the group have been integrated with those of the NanoUiB Platform with regard to research and teaching and active collaborations have been established with groups in Norway, Canada, UK, Germany, and Spain.
